Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has decided to adjust the average retail electricity price, increasing it by 4.8% starting today, October 11.

On February 19, 2025, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn, Chairman of the Appraisal Council for the Adjustment of Power Plan VIII, chaired a meeting of the council. During the meeting, council members voted unanimously to approve the proposal, with conditions requiring revisions and additions. Based on this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will update and complete the necessary documentation and procedures in accordance with regulations, ensuring timely submission to the Prime Minister for review and approval.

A new study indicates that Europe risks becoming an "assembly plant" for Chinese battery manufacturers unless the continent implements regulations ensuring technology and skill transfers in exchange for state aid.
